Can Yaman turns 33 today. He jokingly tells about his birth, which did not go smoothly.
“I was born on the 8th of November 1989. Actually no, I was born at 11:55pm on the 7th of November, but I was registered a few minutes later. My mother Güldem and my father Güven experienced my birth differently.
During the birth, my mother's heart stopped and for sixty seconds it looked like she would not regain consciousness.
She always tells me that all she remembers of those moments is a strange vision; she was in a beautiful orange garden, a sort of paradise.
My grandmother was in the delivery room, the only one who could attend. My dad was home making scrambled eggs. He was always a quiet person.
When I was born I weighed 3 kg. 950 grams, I had a lot of hair and big shoulders. And my parents said I was quite an ugly baby. When my father saw me for the first time, he immediately joked, "Are you sure they haven't switched my son with someone else?"
But it was really me, Can Yaman.”
